Shri S.M Krishna, External Affairs Minister of India visited London from 26-30 January 2010 on his first visit to UK after taking over as External Affairs Minister in May last year. During his visit, EAM attended the Conference on Afghanistan in London on 28th January at Lancaster House

He had bilateral meetings with UK Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Rt. Hon. David Miliband, Foreign Minister of Australia Mr. Stephen Smith and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Rt. Hon. Baroness Catherine Ashton on the sidelines of the Conference. EAM also attended a reception hosted by Prince of Wales at St. James’ Palace.
A lunch was hosted for EAM by the three Friends of India Groups in the UK Parliament at the prestigious House of Lords attended by office bearers of the Friends of India and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Commons Mike Gapes. EAM concluded his visit by offering his condolences at the Martyr’s Day ceremony on 30th January at a public function at Tavistock Square in London
